Ready to be captivated by stormy surroundings? Then you should head due west! More specifically to Værlandet and Bulandet – the island kingdom that is home to one of the most westerly communities in Norway.
With the mighty Atlantic Ocean as the nearest neighbour, everything is geared towards living in close proximity to the elements. You’ll stay among both natural and man-made works of art, in an archipelago with as many islands as there are days in the year.
A local guide can show you the places where the waves crash ashore with full force, and vantage points with ringside seats to watch the changing light and the clouds rolling across the sky. You can also enjoy the storm from indoors! Værlandet Havhotell offers panoramic views of sea and sky – everything you need for a spectacular show where the wind takes the leading role.
Even when the wind is howling, this is the perfect place to find peace and tranquillity. Enjoy a meal at one of the local cafés or make something in your room.
